So whether you are a seasoned professional or a rank amateur when it comes to planning events you will always need to follow the same simple steps. You have to plan everything from the location to the food, all you have to do is follow these simple steps to make the task seem effortless.

Choose your theme

Once you are set on your theme you can move on to the more important issues of planning. It doesn’t matter if the event is a small office party or a workshop, the theme you choose will help you to clearly identify what type of music, food and decoration you will need.

Set your budget

You will almost always be given a budget by the boss that you must stick to. The first thing you need to do is to divide up the budget so you know how much you have for each part of the event; food ands beverages, entertainment, location, advertising and all other costs involved. Corporate event management is all about making a budget and sticking to it, you do not want to waste company funds.

Location, location, location

The location can have a big impact on the feel of your event, you should start to book viewings at potential locations as soon as possible. Check the price of each place, the time you will be allowed to use it and if there is a time you must vacate by. Ask if you can decorate the place, can they provide cutlery and other items? All of these questions are essential.

The food

Make sure that you have food for all tastes; vegetarian, meat lovers and also take in to account any religious requirements. All of your guests must be able to eat the food and must never ever go hungry.

You need the location to look like a million dollars, if you pay key attention to detail then you will have no problem at all when it comes to wowing your guests with your design skills.

Make a schedule

There will be various different jobs that you have to do from now until the event, so make a ‘to-do list’ this list will be your saviour I promise! Make sure that you have a list and everyone involved what jobs they are expected to do and when they are expected to do them by.

If you follow these simple steps you will not only impress the boss but everyone else who joins the event!
